Halfway through the month and August has already been both busy and inspiring.
I attended a Readers event at Enamoured Books and met the fabulous T L Swan (Fan-girling here 😍). She is a terrific writer (think spicy billionaire books) and such a lovely warm person. I then got the chance to hear her speak at the RWNZ Conference a few days later. Her journey to success is truly awe inspiring and I can’t wait for her next book!
The RWNZ ‘Kiss & Tell’ Conference was unbelievable – three days of learning about the craft and business of romance writing. The Queen of Trope Jennifer Hilt, Keynote speaker T L Swann, superstar paranormal romance writer Nalini Singh, New York agent Sarah Younger, workshops, panel sessions and pitching sessions, all while surrounded by romance authors from all walks of life and at different stages in their writing journey.
I met old friends, made new ones, and clapped and cheered on those that found success during the Koru Awards Gala Evening. I left feeling exhausted, but energised at the same time, inspired to get stuck in and put words to paper. To finish the stories dancing in my head and bring to life the strong, powerful characters that I’ve fallen in love with, and hope that you will too in the future.
